All children from the term after they are three are entitled to 15 hours of free early education for 38 weeks per year until they start full-time school usually after their fourth birthday. If you would like to book a visit to our Nursery, Open Visits take place November through to February each year. Please call our office on 01438-359747 to secure your place on a tour.
We offer:
- 60 morning places, five mornings a week for 38 weeks a year (15 hours a week)
- 60 afternoon places, five mornings a week for 38 weeks a year (15 hours a week)
We also offer extended 30 hours free provision to eligible parents as part of the above 60 morning/60 afternoon allocation. For more details about Nursery admissions, session times, 30 hours and lunch club please visit Key Information/Nursery pages of our website.
Nursery Curriculum
The Giles Nursery offers a wide range of indoor and outdoor activities designed to promote the cognitive, physical, emotional and social growth of its children. Children can enjoy experimenting with sand, water, paint, clay, glue, wood and many other basic materials.
They enjoy looking at books, listening to stories and learning songs and rhymes. They can play in the band, dress up in the role play area, play with a variety of toys and games and engage in food technology.
The Nursery allows them to make decisions, take turns with each other, share the attention of the adults and to establish relationships with one another. By the end of their time in the Nursery, the children should be more confident, capable and ready for the more formal learning of the Infants' School. Please see our Curriculum section on the 'About Us' web page for more details.
